The Poetess is part of the I am your mirror series, a black-and-white analog photography project born from spontaneous encounters with strangers met online or on the streets of London.
This work explores themes of identity, emotional connection, and therapeutic expression. For this series, I intentionally gave up control over artificial lighting, working exclusively with natural light and analog cameras.
Building a true, empathetic bond with the subjects was sometimes a challenge, but essential.
In this image, a woman reclines gently on a fallen tree, merging with the landscape.
The contrast of light and shadow enhances the composition’s poetic stillness, evoking feelings of vulnerability, freedom, and the quiet depth of existence.
