The poetess is a compelling piece from the I am your mirror photography project - a black-and-white analog series created through encounters with people met online and on the streets of London. This project explores powerful themes of identity, human connection, and therapeutic release.
For this series, I intentionally relinquished control over traditional photographic elements by using only natural light and analog cameras. Building an empathetic connection with some subjects was challenging but essential to the project’s emotional depth.
This artwork captures the harmony between the human form and nature, revealing vulnerability, introspection, and timeless beauty. The subject reclines gracefully on a fallen tree, her nude body echoing the organic curves and textures of the natural environment. The delicate interplay of light and shadow enhances the image’s serene, poetic quality - inviting viewers to reflect on connection, freedom, and the profound simplicity of existence.
