I had the pleasure of working with Francesca Sand on the organisation of the "I am my body, I am my memory" Multidisciplinary Festival of Arts in Venice, held at Officine Forte Marghera.
We brought together many international artists from all over the world, selected through an open call. The organisation presented numerous challenges. Managing a group of 60 artists from around the world was a complex task.
Handling communication, managing the press office, selecting artworks, arranging artwork placement in the gallery, coordinating performances, overseeing videos and installations, and advertising the event in Venice (an unfamiliar territory) were all highly demanding tasks.
However, we successfully organised this wonderful festival, free from censorship, dedicated to promoting freedom of expression through art—a vital force capable of challenging regressive thoughts and providing inspiration and energy.
The festival was self-funded, and we are now seeking funding to bring it to Paris, London, and Berlin. This experience was extraordinary for me in every aspect, both as a participating artist alongside all the members of Action Hybrides and as an organiser working behind the scenes.
I'm immensely proud of myself and Francesca Sand, an exceptional artist, a highly creative individual, and a wonderful friend.
Action Hybride is a collective of international artists, founded by Francesca Sand in January 2018. The first exhibition, "ANGST," took place in Paris in March 2018 at La Capela and brought together its first active members: Fur Aphrodite, Maria Clark, Loredana Denicola, Louise Dumont, Barbara Kowa, Sophie Mars, Pascaline Rey, Francesca Sand, Vanda Spengler, Anne-Marie Toffolo, and Elisabette Zelaya.
All members are deeply engaged in exploring the theme of the body.
The association's purpose is to conduct interviews, screenings, exhibitions, art performances, meetings, and reflections on the body and the human condition, featuring a multidisciplinary and international group of artists. These events are primarily organised in Paris but also take place abroad.
